The Flames originally began as Atlanta, Georgia’s hockey team, and only arrived in Calgary, Alberta in 1980. With a home base of the Pengrowth Saddledome, this team has won one Stanley Cup, and nine Northwest championships. The Calgary Flames have long had a rivalry with its fellow Alberta team, the Edmonton Oilers; this feud has been called the “Battle of Alberta”. The team boasts a logo which is the image of a Flaming red “C”.
