Abdelkader Secteur

Abdelkader Secteur is coming to a city near you with a style of comedy that has made him one of the best known Algerian comedians among Arabic speaking audiences around the world. Born Abdelkader Arahman Rahmoun in Ghazaouet, Algeria, he began his career entertaining guests at weddings and local celebrations before developing full length comedy performances inspired by everyday life. Initially performing in his regional dialect, he gradually adapted his material into a more widely understood form of Algerian Arabic, allowing his popularity to grow throughout the country.

His career reached a broader international audience after a video of one of his performances on YouTube caught the attention of Jamel Debbouze, who invited him to perform at the Jamel Comedy Club in Paris. That opportunity introduced him to audiences beyond Algeria and led to appearances at the Marrakech du Rire festival, along with performances in France, Belgium, Morocco, Canada and Algeria. His comedy is known for its sharp observations of everyday life, family relationships, immigration, language and cultural differences, delivered through memorable characters and expressive storytelling.

Alongside his stand up career, Abdelkader Secteur has also worked as an actor. His screen credits include the films Outside the Law (Hors-la-loi) directed by Rachid Bouchareb and Just Like Brothers (Né quelque part) directed by Mohamed Hamidi, as well as television productions. His journey from local entertainer to an internationally recognized comedian has established him as one of the leading figures in contemporary Maghrebi comedy.
