Adieu Katacombes

Adieu Katacombes is coming to a venue near you with a tribute event honouring one of Montreal's most influential underground music venues. Founded in 2006, Katacombes quickly became a cornerstone of the city's punk, metal, hardcore, industrial, and alternative music communities. Operated as a cooperative venue, it hosted nearly 2,000 concerts and welcomed more than 350,000 attendees before closing its doors at the end of 2019. Adieu Katacombes celebrates the venue's remarkable legacy while recognizing its lasting contribution to Montreal's independent arts and music scene.

For more than thirteen years, Katacombes presented an exceptionally diverse calendar of performances featuring local, national, and international artists. Although best known for heavy music, the venue also welcomed ska, folk, hip-hop, jazz, comedy, benefit events, festivals, and community gatherings. Major independent events including Quebec Deathfest, Montreal Oi! Fest, and portions of Pouzza Fest found a home at Katacombes, whose welcoming atmosphere and commitment to emerging artists helped make it one of Canada's most respected DIY venues.
