Africaine 808

Africaine 808 is coming to a venue near you with a distinctive sound that blends African rhythms, electronic music, house, and organic grooves into an innovative dance music experience. Formed in Berlin in 2012, Africaine 808 is the duo of DJ Nomad (Hans Reuschl) and Dirk Leyers. The project takes its name from the iconic Roland TR-808 drum machine, affectionately considered the group's third member. Combining afrobeat, disco, house, dub, and global musical traditions with modern electronic production, the duo has developed a style that stands apart within today's international dance music scene.

Following the release of their debut single Cobijas in 2013, Africaine 808 gained recognition with Lagos, New York before releasing their first full-length album, Basar, in 2016. Their catalogue also includes tracks such as Rhythm Is All You Can Dance and The Lord Is a Woman, along with numerous remixes for international artists. Their genre-crossing approach has earned them performances at respected clubs and festivals while building a reputation for inventive, globally inspired electronic music.
