Ahmed Ag Kaedy is coming to a venue near you with a sound deeply rooted in the Sahara Desert and Tuareg musical traditions. Born in Kidal, Mali, the singer, guitarist, and songwriter is the leader of Amanar de Kidal and one of the leading voices of Tishoumaren, often known as desert blues. His music combines traditional Tuareg melodies with poetic lyrics that reflect resilience, identity, and hope while drawing inspiration from the experiences of northern Mali's Tuareg communities.
Ahmed Ag Kaedy gained international recognition through the documentary Mali Blues and with his acclaimed 2019 solo album Akaline Kidal, released by Sahel Sounds. Recorded while living in exile, the album was praised for returning to the acoustic roots of Tuareg guitar music. He has also collaborated with Berlin-based ensemble Onom Agemo & The Disco Jumpers on the project Common Stars and continues to use his music to promote peace, cultural identity, and unity.
With his expressive guitar playing, heartfelt songwriting, and dedication to preserving Tuareg musical heritage, Ahmed Ag Kaedy remains one of the defining voices of contemporary Saharan music. Get your tickets now at Tickets.ca.
