Albert Hammond Jr.

Albert Hammond Jr. is coming near you with a solo career that expands on his work as guitarist for The Strokes.

A founding member of the New York band, he has contributed to defining rock albums of the 2000s, including Is This It, Room on Fire, First Impressions of Earth, Angles, Comedown Machine and The New Abnormal. His melodic, precise guitar work is closely connected to the group’s sound, moving between garage rock, new wave and indie rock.

Alongside The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jr. has built a personal catalogue since 2006 that places greater focus on his songwriting, voice and arrangements. His first albums, Yours to Keep and ¿Cómo Te Llama?, were followed by the AHJ EP, Momentary Masters and Francis Trouble. In 2023, he released Melodies on Hiatus, an ambitious 19-song album featuring 100-99 with GoldLink, Old Man, Thoughtful Distress with Matt Helders and Steve Stevens, plus Remember and Alright Tomorrow with Rainsford.

Albert Hammond Jr. maintains a direct songwriting style and musical curiosity that broaden his work beyond The Strokes while keeping guitar at the centre of his songs.
