Born Aldo Caporuscio in Montreal, Nova gained international recognition with his self-titled debut album Aldo Nova and the hit single Fantasy, a song that became his signature recording and remains a staple of 1980s rock music. Its success helped establish him as one of Canada’s notable rock artists and introduced his distinctive blend of hard rock melodies and guitar-driven songwriting to audiences around the world.

Throughout his career, Nova released songs including Foolin’ Yourself, Monkey on Your Back, and Blood on the Bricks. In addition to his work as a recording artist, he built an impressive reputation behind the scenes as a songwriter and producer. He collaborated extensively with Celine Dion, co-writing the international hit A New Day Has Come and contributing to several projects throughout her career. Nova also created the main guitar riff used in Blaze of Glory by Jon Bon Jovi and worked with a wide range of artists across multiple genres.

His achievements as a producer earned industry recognition when Falling into You by Celine Dion received the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Nova later received SOCAN’s International Achievement Award in recognition of his songwriting accomplishments and influence within the music industry.
