Aleksi Campagne is coming to a venue near you with a distinctive artistic vision that has established him as one of the most promising emerging voices in Canadian folk music. A singer-songwriter, fiddler, and vocalist from the Montreal area, Campagne blends traditional folk influences with a contemporary sound that reflects both innovation and craftsmanship. Music has been part of his life from an early age. He is the son of Paul Campagne of the folk group Hart Rouge and acclaimed Canadian folk artist Connie Kaldor, and he began performing as a child. His musical training includes studies in classical and jazz violin at McGill University as well as advanced studies in Paris with renowned jazz violinist Didier Lockwood.
Campagne gained widespread recognition with his debut full-length album For the Giving / Sans rien donner, released in 2023. The bilingual project features ten original songs presented in both English and French, highlighting his commitment to linguistic and cultural diversity. The album earned critical praise and led to his selection as the Canadian Folk Music Award winner for French Songwriter of the Year in 2024. Songs such as Another Day, Won’t Be Scared, and Rome helped introduce audiences to his thoughtful songwriting and distinctive musical identity. His growing list of achievements also includes being named New Discovery of the Year by Penguin Eggs and Roots Music Canada and winning the 2026 edition of Ma première Place des Arts, one of Canada’s notable emerging artist competitions.
