Behind the project is Alan Bishop, an American musician best known as a founding member of the influential experimental group Sun City Girls, widely recognized for their unconventional blend of improvisation, avant garde rock, and global musical influences. Under the name Alvarius B, Bishop develops a solo body of work that focuses on stripped down guitar based compositions, storytelling elements, and highly improvisational structures that move away from conventional songwriting.

The Alvarius B catalogue includes independently released recordings and works issued through experimental music labels. One of his notable releases is With a Beaker on the Burner and an Otter in the Oven, an album that reflects his raw and unfiltered approach to composition. His music is often associated with lo fi aesthetics, desert inspired atmospheres, and a strong emphasis on improvisation, reflecting a long standing commitment to non commercial and exploratory musical practices.
