Amirtha Kidambi's Elder Ones

Amirtha Kidambi's Elder Ones represents a revolutionary force in the contemporary jazz and experimental music scene. Led by vocalist and composer Amirtha Kidambi, this ensemble masterfully fuses free improvisation, microtonal structures from Carnatic singing, and the raw intensity of punk rock. The project explores themes of resistance and decolonization through bold instrumentation including harmonium, saxophone, and an explosive rhythmic section, creating a sound of fascinating complexity.

The live experience unfolds as a cathartic and spiritual sonic discharge where Kidambi’s voice oscillates between meditative serenity and powerful rallying cries. The musicians interact with telepathic synergy, navigating between hypnotic drones and chaotic free jazz explosions. Each performance is a demonstration of physical and emotional virtuosity that transforms the stage into a space of struggle and radical transformation for the audience in attendance.

Attending this show means immersing yourself in a work of brutal honesty that defies established musical boundaries. It is an invitation to feel the urgency of pure artistic creation and the beauty of uncompromising experimentation. The intensity of this artistic encounter leaves a lasting impression on the minds of the spectators.
