Aodi is an ensemble bringing together musicians from a range of instrumental practices.
The project's name comes from a husky dog encountered during a northern journey, a starting point that distinguishes the group within contemporary and improvised music. Aodi includes Adèle Levayer on flutes, Philippe Lauzier on bass clarinet, Tom Jacques on vibraphone, Ivan Bamford on drums and percussion, François Landry on guitar and nyckelharpa, Sienna Dahlin on vocals, Héloïse Paradis on violin, and Thomas Gaudet-Asselin on double bass and composition.
This instrumentation combines strings, winds, voice, percussion and the nyckelharpa, a traditional Swedish string instrument. The presence of bass clarinet, vibraphone and double bass also places the project near contemporary jazz and sound art. **Aodi'**s own site describes its work through sound art, music and document. Aodi is part of the Rimouski International Festi Jazz presented by Vidéotron in September 2026, within the Desjardins Jazz Day series. The festival listing identifies the presentation as part of a free afternoon program open to the public. The group's detailed instrumental line-up gives the project a distinctive collective identity.
