Asal

Asal is coming near you with Kiss the Sun, a 2026 alt-pop album that extends the distinctive path of this Iranian Canadian singer-songwriter based in Vancouver.

Born in Iran, she immigrated to Canada at age 11 and began writing her own songs and playing guitar while learning English. Her work combines alternative pop, intimate songwriting and references to pre-revolution Iranian psychedelic rock.

Written and entirely self-recorded by Asal, Kiss the Sun addresses grief, nostalgia, forgiveness and self-discovery. The album is connected to the death of her father and marks a new chapter in a discography that began with the EP Missing Something. At 18, her track Liar's & Players helped put her on the map and led to opening dates for Artemas in 30 cities across Europe and North America. Asal also collaborated with DJ and producer MK on She's in the Club, a song presented on the main stage at EDC Las Vegas. With more than 150 million streams, she continues to build her profile between Vancouver's independent music community and an international tour.
