Ásgeir

Ásgeir is coming near you with a body of work that has made him one of Iceland's most recognized singer-songwriters of his generation.

Originally from Laugarbakki, Iceland, Ásgeir Trausti released his debut album, Dyrd i dauoathogn, in 2012. The record became the fastest-selling debut album in Icelandic history, quickly establishing the importance of his blend of folk, pop and electronic music.

In 2014, Ásgeir released the English-language version of that record, In the Silence, with lyrics adapted by John Grant. The album includes the songs King and Cross, Going Home and Higher. His discography continued with Afterglow in 2017, Bury the Moon in 2020, Time on My Hands in 2022 and Black & White in 2024. His music brings together guitar, piano and electronic textures, with lyrics first written in Icelandic and sometimes adapted into English. Ásgeir has helped bring Icelandic pop music to international audiences while maintaining a strong connection to his language and country of origin.
