Botfly

Botfly is coming to a venue near you with an intense blend of post-hardcore, noise rock, sludge, and alternative punk. Formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the band has established itself as one of Canada's most respected underground heavy music acts through emotionally charged songwriting, crushing instrumentation, and a sound that draws inspiration from both 1990s hardcore and modern noise rock. From its earliest recordings, Botfly developed a distinctive musical identity built around massive guitar tones, unpredictable rhythms, and deeply personal lyrics, earning recognition from fans of aggressive yet emotionally resonant music.

Since its formation, Botfly has released the EPs Lunacy, Parasitic Oscillation, Host, Hatch, and Denouement, followed by its self-titled debut album Botfly in 2017. The band continued expanding its catalogue with At Home With Alex (2020), Lower Than Love (2021), and the Open Letters EP in 2024. Notable songs include Reflect//Reject, Déjà Vu, Truth in Numbers, Disassociate, Lower Than Love, Melancholy in Real Time, and Yellow Bike Road. Throughout these releases, Botfly explores themes of mental health, personal relationships, anxiety, and resilience while balancing melodic passages with explosive heaviness and dynamic arrangements.

Over the years, Botfly has toured extensively across North America while building a strong reputation within Canada's DIY hardcore community. Remaining committed to its independent roots, the band continues to collaborate with artists across the hardcore and noise rock scenes while refining a sound that has grown increasingly atmospheric without sacrificing its raw intensity. Through its combination of emotional honesty, creative songwriting, and uncompromising musicianship, Botfly continues to stand out as one of Canada's most compelling contemporary post-hardcore bands.
