Car Seat Headrest is coming to a venue near you, bringing an unforgettable raw energy to fans of indie rock and alternative lo-fi music. Spearheaded by singer-songwriter Will Toledo, this acclaimed musical project—originally formed in Virginia and later based in Seattle—has established itself as one of the most vital and influential voices on the modern independent rock circuit. What began as a prolific solo endeavor, with Toledo recording vocals in the privacy of his car, has beautifully evolved into a powerhouse full band.
The group's recording career achieved monumental momentum in 2015 after signing with the prominent independent label Matador Records. Following the release of Teens of Style, Car Seat Headrest delivered their breakthrough studio masterpiece, Teens of Denial, in 2016. The album earned universal critical acclaim and generated massive independent hits like Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales and Fill in the Blank. In 2018, they achieved further milestone success with the complete, full-band studio re-recording of their classic internet cult album, Twin Fantasy, featuring epic fan favorites such as Beach Life-In-Death and Bodys.
Consistently pushing creative boundaries, the band expanded their sonic palette by blending driving guitar rock with electronic arrangements on the 2020 studio album Making a Door Less Open. Celebrated for Toledo’s deeply introspective songwriting exploring youth, identity, and mental health, Car Seat Headrest has built an exceptionally passionate worldwide following. Their electrifying live performances, captured perfectly on their live release Faces From the Masquerade, demonstrate a captivating raw vulnerability.
