Catherine Leduc is coming near you with an intimate and original psychedelic folk sound deeply rooted in Quebec songwriting.
Originally from the south shore of Trois-Rivières, the singer-songwriter studied visual arts, music, and textile construction before moving to Montreal. She later founded Tricot Machine with Matthieu Beaumont, a duo that quickly attracted attention through its delicate melodies and distinctive creative identity.
Tricot Machine released a self-titled debut, followed by the holiday album 25 décembre and La prochaine étape. The project received several honours, including the Félix Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, a Miroir Award from the Festival d’été de Québec, the SOCAN ECHO Songwriting Prize, and the Grand Prix de la relève Archambault.
Catherine Leduc then pursued a solo path with Rookie, an album focused on vulnerability and her questions about life as a creator. Un bras de distance avec le soleil expanded that reflection by exploring doubt, wonder, and the right to be different. Free from the conventional boundaries of French-language song, her compositions combine layered arrangements, emotional honesty, and an experimental spirit. Her catalogue offers fans a personal musical world shaped by curiosity and a determination to keep creating.
