CF Montreal

CF Montréal begins each MLS season with more than 30 years of history in Québec professional soccer.

Founded on December 10, 1992 as the Montreal Impact, the club began operations in 1993 and won its first playoff championship in 1994. It joined Major League Soccer in 2012, becoming the first Québec club to compete in North America’s top division.

The Bleu-blanc-noir’s history includes five Canadian Championship titles, won in 2008, 2013, 2014, 2019, and 2021. In 2015, the club reached the Concacaf Champions League final after eliminating Pachuca and Alajuelense. That campaign remains a defining continental achievement. The 2022 season also set several club records, including 65 points and 20 regular-season wins, its best MLS record.

At home, CF Montréal plays at Stade Saputo, which opened in 2008. The team’s journey links local soccer roots to major North American and international competition, while its academy supports the development of the game throughout Québec.
