Digable Planets

Digable Planets invites you to a sonic odyssey where hip-hop adorns itself with the harmonies of jazz and the soul of funk, creating a timeless and sophisticated fusion.

This iconic Brooklyn trio, comprised of Ishmael Butler (Butterfly), Mary Ann Vieira (Ladybug Mecca), and Craig Irving (Doodlebug), is renowned for its smooth flows, organic instrumentation, and philosophical or socially conscious lyrics. Their debut album, Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space), made a significant impact, propelling the global hit and Grammy Award winner, Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat). Their subsequent work, Blowout Comb, further deepened their explorations. Expect a live performance imbued with undeniable chemistry, inventive improvisations, and a subdued yet irresistibly groovy atmosphere. It's an immersion into music that is both intellectual and visceral.
