DIVKA is coming to a city near you with a musical project that reimagines Eastern European vocal traditions and women's folk music through a contemporary artistic lens. Based in Ontario, the duo is composed of bandurist and vocalist Alina Kuzma and violist Zoë Ëoz. Both trained ethnomusicologists, they draw inspiration from traditional Ukrainian songs and women's musical traditions from around the world to create an original sound rooted in mythology, folklore and cultural heritage. Their music combines historical repertoire with fresh arrangements that give centuries old songs a modern voice.

Formed in 2024, DIVKA quickly gained recognition within Canada's world music community. The duo released the single Harbuz in 2024, followed by Kailailiri in 2025 and its debut album, folk fatale, in 2026. The album brings together traditional songs, original compositions and innovative arrangements featuring bandura, viola and layered vocal harmonies. Songs including Harbuz, Kailailiri, Zhuravel, Volodar, Garden of Time and Enchantress showcase the duo's ability to bridge ancestral traditions with contemporary musical expression.

As its profile continues to grow, DIVKA has appeared at festivals and cultural events including the Toronto Bandura Festival, Sunfest and the National Arts Centre. The duo's work celebrates women's voices, traditional music and cross cultural storytelling while preserving and reinterpreting historic folk traditions.
