Gouge Away

Gouge Away is coming to a venue near you with a powerful blend of hardcore punk, post-hardcore, noise rock, and alternative rock. Formed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2012, the band has established itself as one of the defining voices of contemporary American hardcore. Fronted by vocalist Christina Michelle, Gouge Away takes its name from the Pixies song of the same title while drawing inspiration from influential bands including Fugazi, Unwound, The Jesus Lizard, Nirvana, and the Pixies. The group's music combines relentless intensity with melodic and atmospheric passages, creating a distinctive sound that reaches beyond the traditional boundaries of hardcore.

Following the independently released EPs Still Bored and Focus Your Anger in 2013, Gouge Away issued its debut album , Dies in 2016 before signing with Deathwish Inc. for the acclaimed Burnt Sugar in 2018. The band's third studio album, Deep Sage, arrived in 2024 and was praised for expanding its sound while preserving the urgency and emotional impact that defined its earlier work. Standout songs include Ghost, Only Friend, Hey Mercy, Stuck in a Dream, Idealized, Dallas, and Swallow. Across its catalogue, the band explores themes of personal relationships, trauma, mental health, resilience, and social issues through emotionally charged lyrics and dynamic songwriting.

Throughout its career, Gouge Away has toured extensively across North America and Europe, sharing stages with artists such as Touché Amoré, Drug Church, and Culture Abuse. The band's willingness to evolve has become one of its defining strengths, particularly on Deep Sage, where elements of shoegaze, grunge, and alternative rock broaden its sonic palette without sacrificing its hardcore foundation. With uncompromising musicianship, emotionally resonant songwriting, and an ever-growing influence on modern punk and hardcore, Gouge Away continues to stand out as one of the genre's most compelling contemporary bands.
