Idriss LeViking Noir

Idriss LeViking Noir is coming to a city near you… Idriss LeViking Noir, also known as Tonton Idriss (Idrissa Sidibé), is a Malian artist of Ivorian origin recognized for his multidisciplinary career combining music, theatre, dance and storytelling. Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, he has been active on stage since the early 2000s, developing an artistic identity rooted in West African traditions and contemporary performance practices.

Based in Canada since 2019, his work blends Mandinka musical influences with soul, reggae and modern sounds. His music is supported by seasoned musicians and draws on traditional African rhythms, creating a dynamic and expressive artistic universe. He was also a member of the Mali based group Tassouma Woyo and collaborated with renowned kora player Toumani Diabaté on the track Seliba.

His solo career, launched in 2009, reflects a commitment to storytelling through music, with a distinctive voice marked by reggae inflections and a strong narrative presence. His 2024 album Keyzit showcases this artistic direction, including songs that highlight personal heritage and emotional depth.

Idriss LeViking Noir remains an active figure in contemporary African music in Canada, contributing to the promotion and evolution of Mandinka inspired musical traditions.
