Ka Uinaksheshet Les enfants sales offers a sensitive reflection on Indigenous residential schools, collective memory and healing.

The title Ka Uinaksheshet means Les enfants sales in Innu-aimun. The story takes place inside an Indigenous residential school classroom, where childhood memories reveal the wounds left by a painful period of Canadian history.

The project was developed by Innu sound designer Simon Riverin through the Indigenous Artist in Residence program at the National Theatre School of Canada. He co-wrote the play with Pierre Berlioux and Julien-Claude Charlebois while also leading its concept and direction.

The cast includes Fabrice Girard, Suzie Kanapé Fontaine, Jeanne Moreau-Vollant, Simon Riverin and Xavier Watso. The work addresses trauma, violence, abuse and the evolving relationship between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous communities.
