Koriass

Koriass is coming near you as a leading figure in Quebec rap.

A rapper from Montreal-Nord, Emmanuel Dubois, his given name, developed a passion for rap as a teenager. He released Les racines dans le béton in 2008, then followed with Petites Victoires, Rue des Saules, Love suprême, and La nuit des longs couteaux. His writing combines social reflection, everyday observation, melodies, and incisive rhymes, helping move Quebec rap toward work that is both accessible and demanding.

Koriass has won two ADISQ Félix awards for Hip-Hop Album of the Year, for Rue des Saules and Love suprême. Love suprême also earned him the GAMIQ Artist of the Year award and a JUNO nomination for Francophone Album of the Year. In collaboration with FouKi, he released Génies en herbe before Abri de fortune (pour fin du monde). His latest album, SEPT ANS DE MALHEUR (titre temporaire), contains sixteen tracks and includes the title song with Daniel Bélanger. His catalogue also includes Printemps, Cinq à sept, Montréal-Nord, Corde à linge, Détour, and 24heures. Koriass continues work recognized for precision, humour, and an ability to connect the personal with collective questions.
