La Belle et la Bête de Disney

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is coming to a venue near you in a new French-language musical inspired by Disney's beloved classic.

The production brings together a creative team led by director Hugo Bélanger, musical director David Terriault, and choreographer Alex Francoeur. The music is by Alan Menken, with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and a book by Linda Woolverton. The announced songs include the original French versions of Belle, Gaston, C'est la fête, and Histoire éternelle.

Adapted from the well-known fairy tale, the story follows Belle, a curious young woman held in the Beast's castle. The prince, trapped by a spell, must learn to love and be loved before the last petal of the rose falls. Lumière, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Gaston are also part of the story.

Beauty and the Beast was Disney's first theatrical musical. It has been presented in more than 17 languages and reached more than 35 million audience members. The musical received nine Tony Award nominations, while the song Beauty and the Beast won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Grammy Award.
