La Otra Orilla

La Otra Orilla is a Montreal-based transdisciplinary company founded in 2006 by Hedi Graja, from Tunis, and Myriam Allard, from Quebec.

The two artists met in Andalusia after six years immersed in flamenco, an experience that helped define the company's identity. Their work brings together dance, physical theatre, and sound composition in creations that resist established categories.

Myriam Allard is artistic co-director, choreographer, and teacher. Her artistic language takes flamenco as a starting point and draws on a career shaped by tablaos and flamenco companies, from Seville to Osaka, Paris, and New York. Hedi Graja is responsible for direction, scenography, and voice. Initially trained in theatre in Paris and classical singing in Toulouse, he has overseen the direction and scenography of La Otra Orilla's productions since 2006.

La Otra Orilla's creations have been presented in Canada, the United States, Scotland, Colombia, and Tunisia. The company also leads La Lola, a Montreal creative hub dedicated to artistic exchange and innovation. Together, Allard and Graja have developed a hybrid artistic language shaped by Quebec, Tunisia, and their shared relationship with flamenco.
