Lary Kidd is coming near you with a writing style that has left a lasting mark on Quebec rap.
A Montreal rapper, he first became known as part of Loud Lary Ajust alongside Loud and DJ Ajust. As a solo artist, he has developed a style built on punchlines, strong imagery, and social or philosophical references. His rap is technical, scathing, and melodic, moving among hip-hop, RnB, and contemporary production with writing that is often dark, incisive, and uninhibited.
His first solo album, Contrôle, established the foundations of this approach through tense and reflective writing. Lary Kidd followed with Surhomme, the EP Le poids des livres, Vulgaire démonstration d'ignorance, and Le cheval blanc de Napoléon. That project foregrounds an irreverent character and a world rich in social and philosophical references. His songs include FTSL, Les fleurs bleues, Hercule, Tout va bien, Costco Freestyle, Speak White, P'tit cochon, Moishes Riopelle, C'est pas ce que tu penses, De quoi tu parles, and Oui monsieur. He has also collaborated with Loud, 20some, Or Bleu, Benjamin Epps, and GrandBazaar. With Grazie Mille Freestyle, Lary Kidd continues to expand a catalogue recognized for its originality and command of phrase.
