Le Vote stratégique

Le Vote stratégique is a political satire by the company Hommeries ! that places democracy in the hands of three fools: Lacharrue, Douchebag, and Wannabe.

These characters run an election campaign in which the Parti du Gros Bon Sens, the Enverdeurs, and the Parti lobbyiste patriotique seek the public's favour. The play draws on the figure of the fool, an irreverent and grotesque character who mocks the flaws of contemporaries, to address the mechanisms of political spectacle and civic debate.

This revival is presented by Premier Acte in Quebec City from September 22 to October 3, 2026, after an initial run at the same venue in April 2025. The characters were originally created by Valérie Boutin, Paul Fruteau De Laclos, and François-Guillaume Leblanc. The text is by Nicola Boulanger, Melissa Bouchard, Valérie Boutin, Paul Fruteau De Laclos, and Guillaume Pelletier. Nicola Boulanger and Melissa Bouchard direct and handle stage management, while Bouchard also leads production. The cast includes Valérie Boutin, Paul Fruteau De Laclos, and Guillaume Pelletier. Running 90 minutes, Le Vote stratégique invites attendees to take part in the election and witness its consequences.
