Mat Vezio is coming near you with a French-language universe where songwriting, literature and musical exploration meet.
The Quebec singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist first became known as a drummer alongside artists including Antoine Corriveau, Marcie and Francis Faubert. His solo career reveals a vivid writing style filled with characters, landscapes and interconnected stories that unfold like chapters of a novel.
His album Avant la mort des fleurs cueillies earned him recognition as a finalist for the Prix Félix-Leclerc de la chanson. He expanded his narrative approach with Garde-fou, which received ADISQ nominations for production and arrangements. Couleur ciel ecchymose explores physical, emotional and personal forms of migration.
Through songs such as Grande migration, Ciel ecchymose, Qui a mis le feu and Caroline, Mat Vezio continues to develop a distinctive blend of folk, rock and alternative French songwriting. His project Vingt mille pieds au-dessus de l’abysse introduces another deeply personal chapter in a catalogue shaped by imagination, melancholy and expressive storytelling.
