Mélisande

Mélisande (électrotrad) offers a bold fusion of Quebec roots and contemporary sounds. Led by the voice of Mélisande and the arrangements of multi-instrumentalist Alexandre de Grosbois-Garand, this project revitalizes traditional repertoire with an urban energy. Recognized by numerous nominations at the Canadian Folk Music Awards and Juno Awards, they transform ancestral songs into catchy electro-pop anthems that resonate with modern audiences.

The live experience is a true surge of sonic adrenaline where traditional foot tapping meets modern synthesizers. The group’s stage presence is magnetic, inviting spectators into a universe where the past and the future merge without compromise. Acoustic instruments blend perfectly with electronic textures to create a festive atmosphere, perfect for dancing and collective celebration under the lights.

Attending a performance by this group means rediscovering Francophone heritage from a completely fresh and vibrant perspective. Each piece tells an ancient story wrapped in a modern soundscape that captivates the senses. It is a rare opportunity to experience tradition with such sonic intensity, within an electric and deeply unifying atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression on every listener.
