Molotov is an alternative rock band from Mexico City, world-renowned for its bold blend of rock, rap, and metal. Since forming in the mid-1990s, the group has stood out for its satirical and politically charged lyrics, often addressing social issues with incisive humor. Their distinct sonic configuration, frequently featuring two bass guitars, gives their compositions a unique and hard-hitting rhythmic depth.
Their discography, highlighted by global hits such as Gimme Tha Power and Frijolero, demonstrates an exceptional ability to fuse languages and musical genres. Molotov remains a leading figure in the Latin American music scene, influencing generations through their freedom of expression and raw energy. The band's work continues to resonate due to its cultural relevance and technical mastery, establishing them as an essential benchmark for modern protest rock.
