Moondoggy is coming near you with alternative rock shaped between Collingwood and Toronto, Ontario.

Formed in Collingwood, the band first developed its earliest songs through home recordings before relocating to Toronto. Its lineup includes brothers Jakob Matanowitsch on vocals and Ben Matanowitsch on saxophone and acoustic guitar, alongside Jonny Contini on lead guitar and Victor Carrillo on drums. That instrumentation places the group within guitar-driven rock while giving the saxophone a distinctive role in its sound.

Moondoggy released its first studio album, Mad and Noisy, recorded at Toronto’s Dreamhouse Studios with producer and engineer Calvin Hartwick. The album draws inspiration from Toronto’s urban landscape, Ottawa, and the hamlet of Dunedin, where the Mad and Noisy Rivers meet. Songs connected to the record include Long Nights, The Capital City, Another Last Song, Ramona, and What a Shame. The group’s catalogue also includes Changing Seasons, Breaking Even, Around The Fire, and the songs Carry On, Still Not There, Everything is Never Enough, and Grow Up, Move Out. Moondoggy has earned placements on Spotify editorial playlists including All New Rock, Ready to Rock, and Fresh Finds Canada.
