Peng Hsu + Diego Gil

Peng Hsu + Diego Gil brings together two contemporary dance works that explore storytelling, space, and the forces that shape bodies.

Peng Hsu's Cucumbers, the Melancholy of a Turtle, and a Girl Otaku's Romance is a theatrical duet. Its narrative begins with an absurd situation: cucumbers fall from the sky and disrupt the life of a village. Several students are struck, while one child stops speaking after a cucumber falls into his mouth. The fiction then shifts toward more intimate concerns, including grief, pain, and the difficulty of living freely. An endangered turtle is also part of the story.

Diego Gil's El sentir de las superficies is a choreographic installation that draws on the language of queer cosmological science fiction. Through everyday actions, dance, objects, and storytelling, it examines how architectural environments affect the climate of our bodies. Diego Gil is a choreographer, dramaturge, and philosopher. His work connects research-creation, philosophy, and movement, including through his project El sentir de las superficies.
