Born Roger Jouret in Brussels, he began as a drummer and took part in the group Hubble Bubble before adopting the name Plastic Bertrand. His solo career took off with Ça plane pour moi, a song that became an international hit and a classic of French-language pop punk. The track reached charts in many countries and has retained an enduring place in popular culture.

Plastic Bertrand then built a multifaceted career as a songwriter, producer, publisher, and television presenter. His discography includes An 1, J'te fais un plan, L'album, Pix, Suite diagonale, Ultra terrestre, Dandy Bandit, and L'expérience humaine. Other well-known titles include Tout petit la planète, Bambino, C'est le rock'n'roll, Sha La La La Lee, Super Cool, and Stop ou encore. He represented Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest with Amour, Amour and earned a platinum record in Belgium for Stop ou encore. His songs have also been covered by several artists and used in international films.
