Ripe

Ripe is coming to a venue near you with an alt-pop and funk sound that combines grooves, horns, R&B, and pop melodies.

The group includes singer Robbie Wulfsohn, guitarist Jon Becker, drummer Sampson Hellerman, and trombonist Calvin Barthel. Their musical approach developed around funk and has evolved to incorporate pop, alternative rock, jazz, and R&B. The group first drew attention with the EPs Produce the Juice and Hey Hello, which established the foundations of its rhythm-driven identity.

Ripe expanded that sound with Joy in the Wild Unknown, its first full-length album, followed by Bright Blues, a collection of twelve songs shaped by bold melodies and sleek grooves. Bright Blues includes Get Over, All or Nothing, and Paper Cups. The group has also released Play the Game, an album co-produced by Joe Chiccarelli that includes Letting Go with Lawrence and Strangers with Cory Wong.

Ripe is known for bringing together accessible pop songwriting and arrangements where horns have an important role. Its catalog offers a dynamic synthesis of pop songcraft, funk, and a strong sense of rhythm.
