Born Sydney Bennett in Los Angeles, the singer, songwriter, producer and audio engineer gained recognition as part of the Odd Future collective. She later co-founded The Internet, an alternative R&B group fronted by her voice. The band’s album Ego Death received a Grammy Award nomination and helped bring its blend of soul, funk and electronic music to an international audience.

Syd established her solo identity with Fin, a sleek album combining contemporary R&B, soul and hip-hop. Tracks such as All About Me, Body, Know and Insecurities introduced an artist balancing confidence with self-reflection. Broken Hearts Club expanded that approach through Fast Car, CYBAH, Right Track and Missing Out, tracing romance from excitement and closeness to uncertainty and heartbreak.

Fans also know Syd through collaborations with Kehlani, Lucky Daye, Lil Uzi Vert and Zayn. She co-wrote Plastic Off the Sofa for Beyoncé, a song that earned a Grammy Award. With her soft vocals, precise production instincts and openly queer storytelling, Syd remains an influential creative voice whose work continues to shape alternative R&B.
