The Billy Joel Legacy: A Tribute Experience

The Billy Joel Legacy: A Tribute Experience celebrates the songs and career of Billy Joel, the American singer-songwriter known as the Piano Man.

This production is a tribute act and does not feature Billy Joel himself. It traces his songbook through music, visuals and storytelling, including Uptown Girl, We Didn't Start the Fire, New York State of Mind, Piano Man, Vienna, Movin' Out and Scenes from an Italian Restaurant.

Born in the Bronx in 1949, Billy Joel reached a wider audience with his 1973 album Piano Man after Philadelphia radio airplay for Captain Jack helped him sign with a major label. His album The Stranger and the song Just the Way You Are brought him his first Grammy Awards in 1979, including Record and Song of the Year. He has earned five Grammy Awards from 23 nominations and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999. The Billy Joel Legacy: A Tribute Experience recognizes the continuing importance of his ballads, rock songs and songwriting in American popular music over several decades.
