The Inspector Cluzo

The Inspector Cluzo is coming to a venue near you with a powerful blend of blues rock, groove, funk, and classic rock delivered through one of the most distinctive two-piece lineups in modern music. Formed in 2008 in Mont-de-Marsan, France, the band features Laurent "Malcolm" Lacrouts on guitar and vocals and Mathieu "Phil" Jourdain on drums. Rejecting the traditional need for a bass player, the duo has created a signature sound driven entirely by guitar, drums, and exceptional musicianship. Equally committed to artistic independence, The Inspector Cluzo manages its own label, production, touring, and business affairs, making its DIY philosophy a defining part of its identity.

Throughout its career, The Inspector Cluzo has released a series of acclaimed albums, including The French Bastards (2010), The 2 Mousquetaires (2012), Gasconha Rocks (2013), Rockfarmers (2016), We the People of the Soil (2018), Horizon (2023), and Less Is More (2025). Several of these recordings were produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Vance Powell, known for his work with Jack White, Chris Stapleton, and Arctic Monkeys. Performing exclusively in English, the duo combines the spirit of American blues and southern rock with funk-infused grooves while maintaining a distinctly original musical identity.

Away from the stage, Lacrouts and Jourdain operate the Lou Casse agroecological farm in southwestern France, where they practice sustainable and self-sufficient farming. Their commitment to agriculture reflects the same values of independence and authenticity that guide their music. Since forming, The Inspector Cluzo has performed more than 1,200 concerts in over 67 countries, appearing at internationally renowned festivals including Fuji Rock, Lollapalooza, Sziget, and South by Southwest. Their unique balance of farming and full-time touring has made them one of the most original acts in contemporary rock.
