Malkovich portrays Nicola Porpora, composer of more than forty operas and vocal master to the era’s two most dazzling castrati, Farinelli and Caffarelli. Caught between their talent and overwhelming egos, Porpora pushes the boundaries of artistic creation, exploring what art allows or forbids, what it reveals or provokes. The characters flirt dangerously with these limits, moving between admiration, rivalry and theatrical provocation.
