Village au Pied-du-Courant

The Village au Pied-du-Courant is a summer pop-up space located on the banks of the Saint Lawrence River, at the foot of the Jacques-Cartier Bridge in Montreal.

Created in 2014, this citizen-driven and cultural project transforms the shoreline each summer into a festive and welcoming gathering place. With a capacity of approximately 3,000 people, the site offers a diverse program including concerts, shows, film screenings, public markets and family activities. Its layout features terraces, artistic installations and a beach area, providing a friendly and accessible experience.

The Village au Pied-du-Courant is known for highlighting the urban landscape and for its collaborative approach involving artists, artisans and community organizations. Over the years, it has become a must-visit destination of Montreal’s summer season, a place of relaxation and discovery that reflects the city’s creativity and diversity.
