Vidura Bandara Rajapaksa is coming near you with observational comedy shaped by an international life and a distinctive point of view.
A Sri Lankan comedian, writer, and director, he is based in London after living in Malaysia and Berlin. His deliberately calm, precise deadpan delivery gives him a compelling way to explore identity, migration, culture, technology, and the absurd details of everyday life.
Vidura Bandara Rajapaksa has created several filmed comedy projects, including Monsoon Season, French Kiss Tunnel, and Woodapple Jam. His work has also appeared on ITV2's The Stand Up Sketch Show, and he has been featured by Vogue India. Alongside comedy, he writes and directs for the screen. His narrative short film received the Best First Time Director award at the Berlin Indie Film Festival, while his script The Ref was selected for the London Screenwriting Festival Shorts Lab in 2021.
His comedy career also includes finalist placements in Leicester Square New Act of the Year, the 2Northdown New Act Competition, and Berlin Best New Comedian, as well as a semi-finalist placement in the BBC New Comedy Awards.
