Vierge

Vierge follows the journey of Divine, a 16-year-old whose only true confidant is Jesus. When her family joins a new church, she realizes that her beliefs and the world around her are more complex than she thought. Through the experiences of four young Canadian women of Congolese descent, this play explores faith, adolescence, and cultural expectations with both humor and depth.

Produced by Black Theatre Workshop, Canada’s longest-running theatre company dedicated to the works of Black and diasporic communities, Vierge offers an authentic and thought-provoking reflection on identity and spirituality.
