Agriculture

Agriculture is a Los Angeles band formed in 2021 by Kern Haug and Dan Meyer, later joined by Richard Chowenhill and Leah B. Levinson. Together, they developed a sound they describe as “ecstatic black metal,” blending the intensity of traditional black metal with experimental, noise-driven and melodic elements. Their debut album Agriculture (2023) quickly gained critical attention, followed by the EP Living Is Easy (2024) and the acclaimed The Spiritual Sound (2025). Tracks such as Bodhidharma and Dan’s Love Song highlight their ability to push the boundaries of extreme metal while exploring themes of emotion, spirituality and catharsis.

On stage, Agriculture delivers performances that are simultaneously explosive and transcendental. Thunderous drums, blistering riffs and raw vocals come together to create a live experience described by critics as some of the most forward-thinking metal of the decade. Their blend of chaos, vulnerability and experimentation allows them to connect with both die-hard metal fans and listeners drawn to avant-garde sound exploration.

Experiencing Agriculture live means stepping into a sonic ritual where intensity becomes release and chaos becomes art.
