Automatic is coming near you with a sound that connects post-punk, new wave, minimalist synth textures and independent rock groove. Formed in Los Angeles in 2017, the trio features Izzy Glaudini on synthesizers and vocals, Halle Saxon on bass and vocals, and Lola Dompé on drums and vocals. The three musicians first came together through the Los Angeles DIY music scene before shaping an identity built on driving bass lines, direct rhythms and hypnotic keyboard patterns.
Automatic released its debut album, Signal, in 2019 through Stones Throw Records. The record includes Too Much Money, Calling It, Suicide In Texas, Highway, Humanoid, Electrocution and Strange Conversations. Pitchfork described Signal as rooted in post-punk and no wave energy, with a sound connected to the minimalist and mechanical side of late 1970s music. The band followed with Signal Remixes in 2021, featuring reworks connected to artists such as Peanut Butter Wolf, Sudan Archives, Peaking Lights, John Dwyer and Kevin Haskins.
In 2022, Automatic continued its path with Excess, a second album that expanded the group’s dystopian and danceable approach. The band has also shared bills with major alternative and independent acts including Tame Impala, Parquet Courts, IDLES and Bauhaus. In 2025, Automatic added Is It Now? to its discography, an album produced with Loren Humphrey that builds on the stripped down, rhythm focused sound heard on Signal and Excess.
With an aesthetic shaped by urban tension, sharp repetition and post-punk history, Automatic holds a distinctive place in today’s independent rock landscape. Buy your tickets on Tickets.ca now and follow the next chapter of Automatic’s career.
