Formed in Texas, the band has become known for a sound they describe as "Western Space Grunge," combining heavy guitars, country influences and alternative melodies into a style of their own. Featuring James Tuffs, Ryan Anderson, Fox and Ty Anderson, Dexter and the Moonrocks first built a passionate online following before reaching a wider audience with several viral songs.

The band gained significant attention with Sad in Carolina, one of their most popular tracks, alongside fan favorites such as Birds and the Bees, Couch, She Likes Girls and Autopilot. Drawing inspiration from both 1990s rock and their Texas roots, Dexter and the Moonrocks have developed an instantly recognizable musical identity. After an early rise fueled by social media and word of mouth, the band has continued to expand its audience through touring and festival appearances, establishing itself as one of the emerging names in the new generation of American rock.
