Dillon James

Dillon James is coming to a city near you as one of the emerging voices in modern American country music. Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, he grew up surrounded by the city's rich country music legacy, drawing inspiration from local icons Merle Haggard and Buck Owens while also embracing influences from classic rock, Bob Dylan, Glen Campbell, Jeff Buckley and City and Colour. After winning several singer-songwriter competitions and spending time pursuing acting in Los Angeles, James endured periods of homelessness and substance abuse before committing himself fully to music and relocating to Nashville to build his recording career.

He introduced himself with the autobiographical singles Walking Man and My Shadow, both reflecting his personal experiences and determination to move forward. In 2024, Dillon James released his debut EP, River Black, featuring the songs River Black, Call Me Up, Had Enough, My Shadow and Walking Man. Released through Hollywood Records and Universal Nashville, the project explores themes of redemption, perseverance and personal growth while blending traditional country storytelling with rock influences.
