Heated POP Rivalry

Heated POP Rivalry brings literature, television, and music together in a special event presented by Joie de Livres and POP Montreal.

The evening is connected to Heated Rivalry, Rachel Reid's 2019 novel and the second title in her Game Changers series. The story follows rival hockey players Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, whose secret relationship unfolds across their careers. The book inspired a Canadian television series created by Jacob Tierney for Crave, with original score by Peter Peter.

Rachel Reid takes part in a moderated conversation with Peter Peter. The program also brings together Philippe B, La Bronze, Night Lunch, and Dumas, whose music is associated with the series soundtrack. Heated POP Rivalry makes Montreal the first stop on Rachel Reid's book tour. Every ticket includes a special hardcover edition of Heated Rivalry with a signed bookplate, and French translation copies can also be selected. The novel belongs to a series that also includes Game Changer, Tough Guy, Common Goal, Role Model, and The Long Game. By bringing together the worlds of books, screen storytelling, and song, Heated POP Rivalry highlights the growing cultural impact of this Canadian story.
