Judah & The Lion

Judah & The Lion are coming near you with a sound that fuses folk, Americana, bluegrass, rock, pop, and electronic elements.

Formed in Nashville in 2011, the group is led by Judah Akers on vocals and guitar, alongside Brian Macdonald on mandolin and vocals. The musicians met at Belmont University, where they won the Best of the Best competition in 2012. Their catalogue brings acoustic instruments, pop hooks, and hip-hop-influenced rhythms.

After the early EPs First Fruits and Sweet Tennessee, Judah & The Lion released Kids These Days in 2014, then Folk Hop n' Roll in 2016. The single Take It All Back became their first number one on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart and earned platinum certification in the United States. The group followed with Pep Talks in 2019, Revival in 2022, and The Process in 2024. The Process is structured around the five stages of grief and includes contributions from Ruston Kelly and K.Flay. Other notable songs include Suit and Jacket, Over My Head, Why Did You Run?, and Pictures with Kacey Musgraves. An iHeartRadio Music Award winner in 2018, Judah & The Lion are among the American groups renewing contemporary folk rock.
