Born in Pereira, Colombia, she first studied civil engineering and worked for a geotechnical company in Medellin before dedicating herself to music. Her path has moved from electronic music toward more abstract forms, bringing together voice, synthesizers, percussion, text, and a deep interest in sound itself. She has become a distinctive figure in contemporary international music.
After Commotus, Syzygy, and Ou, Lucrecia Dalt released Anticlines in 2018 and No era sólida in 2020 through RVNG Intl. Her 2022 album ¡Ay! tells, in Spanish, the story of Preta, an extraterrestrial character arriving on Earth, through songs including No tiempo, Atemporal, Enviada, and Dicen. The Wire named it its record of the year for 2022. That same year, Dalt composed the scores for The Seed and the series The Baby. In 2025, she released A Danger to Ourselves, a thirteen-track album co-produced with David Sylvian, who also appears on cosa rara. Juana Molina and Camille Mandoki also contribute to the record.
