Malvenn is coming near you with neo-traditional music shaped by Breton, Irish and Québécois heritage.

Based in Montreal, the trio features Cécile Delage on Celtic harp, Charlotte Layec on clarinets and McKinley James on cello. Together, the three musicians explore the balfolk repertoire through original compositions and fresh arrangements of traditional melodies.

Malvenn’s sound creates an elegant connection between dance music, folk and chamber music. Its distinctive combination of harp, clarinets and cello gives the group an instantly recognizable identity, offering something special for fans of Celtic traditions, acoustic music and new voices from Quebec’s folk community.

The trio has taken part in major North American gatherings including Festival Trad Montréal, Big Branch Festival, the Flurry Festival and Chants de Vielles. Malvenn also received the Brian O’Donovan Legacy Touring Grant from Club Passim. Its upcoming debut album, Chez Nous, marks an important new chapter for a group bringing renewed energy and thoughtful arrangements to traditional music.
