Orchestre de la Francophonie

Orchestre de la Francophonie is coming to a venue near you with inspiring symphonic performances that celebrate musical excellence while nurturing the next generation of orchestral musicians. Founded in Montreal in 2001 by conductor Jean-Philippe Tremblay for the Jeux de la Francophonie, the Orchestre de la Francophonie has evolved into one of Canada's leading orchestral academies. Every summer, it brings together outstanding young musicians from Quebec, across Canada, and French-speaking countries around the world, providing intensive professional training designed to prepare them for careers with major orchestras.

Each season, talented instrumentalists between the ages of 18 and 30 are selected through international auditions to participate in an immersive training program featuring rehearsals, masterclasses, orchestral coaching, creative workshops, lectures, and a series of public performances. Guided by mentors from leading Canadian orchestras, including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the Orchestre Métropolitain, participants perform masterworks by composers such as Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel, and Tchaikovsky while also premiering new works by emerging Canadian composers. This balance between tradition and innovation has become a defining characteristic of the orchestra's artistic identity.

Since its founding, the Orchestre de la Francophonie has presented more than 200 concerts throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, and China while remaining committed to its three core values: learning, innovation, and sharing. Beyond orchestral training, the organization encourages community engagement, artistic experimentation, and meaningful connections with audiences, helping redefine the role of young musicians in today's cultural landscape. Through its educational mission and artistic achievements, it continues to serve as an important launching pad for emerging orchestral talent and a respected ambassador for classical music.

With its commitment to artistic excellence, innovative education, and the development of future orchestral leaders, the Orchestre de la Francophonie continues to inspire audiences and musicians alike. Get your tickets now at Tickets.ca.
